Shakespeare’s 400th Anniversary concert! (Competition Now Closed)

Perth Symphonic Chorus together with the Perth Baroque Orchestra will honour Shakespeare on the 400th commemoration of his death in a magnificent concert on Sunday 24 April at Government House Ballroom. The concert encompasses Shakespearean texts in a variety of delightful musical forms.

From Rutter’s colourful cantata When Icicles Hang, to the lush settings of Vaughn William’s In Windsor Forest as well as his ethereal Lark Ascending with violin soloist Paul Wright. Perth’s own opera princess, Katja Webb will be accompanied by the Perth Baroque Orchestra. It promises to be a wonderful event and readers have the chance to win a double pass.

Choristers Marian Shakespeare from Ardross and Michael Whitby from Fremantle will help celebrate the words “if music be the food of love play on.”

Since its inception in 1997, the Perth Symphonic Chorus has mesmerised audiences throughout Australia and overseas, including New York, Salzburg and Vienna. Led by internationally acclaimed conductor Dr Margaret Pride OAM, the chorus comprises close to 100 disciplined and passionate individuals skilled in performing the works of some of the best choral composers throughout the ages.
