Win 1 of 4 double passes to the 10 August concert
Now entering its 43rd season, the world-renowned Takács Quartet is revered for the vitality of its interpretations. The New York Times recently lauded the ensemble for “revealing the familiar as unfamiliar, making the most traditional of works feel radical once more”. Based in Boulder at the University of Colorado, the Takács Quartet performs eighty concerts a year worldwide. Readers have the chance to win 1 of 4 double passes to the quartet’s only Perth performance at the Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 10 August. See the How to Enter details on this page.
The secret behind the enduring love affair between the quartet and its Australian public is both the simplest and hardest thing about chamber music: the interplay between four very different creative personalities. Featuring Edward Dusinberre (violin), Karoly Schranz (violin), Geraldine Walther (viola) and Andras Fejer (cello), the concert offers Perth audiences a unique opportunity to hear the Takács Quartet meld their sound into amazing unity in classics by Haydn, Beethoven and Dvorák, and a world premiere by Carl Vine.
Presented by Musica Viva, the Takács Quartet performs at the Perth Concert Hall on Thursday 10 August at 7.30pm. For more info head to http://www.musicaviva.com.au or phone 9284 2808.
