Cockburn Ice Arena is giving away a free term of Learn to Skate Term 3 lessons to 4 lucky Herald readers….
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play ice hockey? Skate in a synchro team? Become a competitive figure skater?
Perhaps you have been ice skating before, and would love to be able to skate effortlessly and confidently?
Whatever your goal, it all starts with learning how to ice skate! Cockburn Ice Arena’s ice skating program is called Learn to Skate and is the first step in your ice skating journey.
The beauty of Ice skating lessons is that they are a great social and recreational activity that can be enjoyed all year round – rain, hail or shine! Learning to ice skate is a stimulating and enjoyable challenge, and helps to develop co-ordination, self confidence and fitness.
The Learn to Skate program focuses on correct skating techniques starting from basic moves such as glides, stops, crossovers and dips, and progresses up to more demanding elements such as jumps and spins.
The program branches off to your chosen sport (ice hockey, synchronised skating, figure skating) once you have achieved the level requirements for that next step.
Learn to Skate has four terms per year, and is run in conjunction with the school term. Classes are available for both adults and children.
Each term of ice skating lessons includes 10 x 25 minute weekly lessons, admission to the rink, free skate hire, unlimited access to general sessions for the term (22 July – 30 September)
